Color wheel and value scales

The color wheel and the value scales that we produced were similar to the ones i did in highschool. I found the color mixing valuable. The value scales were slightly different that the ones i was used to. I found that the complements and the alaogous were more chalenging because i had never been introduced to them in this way. Color mixing is valuable because it shows you how colors contrast eachother in the steps of the color wheel. Value scales show us the importance of tints and shades in color to create different values in sequencial order.

Today in class Cristopher, Sharon, Paulett and I painted eachother. Cris was monochrome, Sharon and Paulett were complements and i was alaogous. This experimental activity was great. I enjoyed the interactivity of it. The calaboration of the tasks and the planing was valuable. I found this to be effective and in context with the assignment.
I was painted first... then i helped paint and take pictures of everyone else..

This image reminds me of toy blocks. the simple arangements of the three primary colors makes me think about all the colors in between. This simple arangment reminds me of parades and celebrations.
The blue in this image is on the left followed by the red then the yellow. this arrangment is like a rainbow.
it reminds me of a multi collored hat or umbrella.
Overall i think this image gives off a scence of happyness and youth.

This second image is mostly blue with two characters on the right holding on to what seems to be a tree of some kind. I feel like this is an under water scene. This image is suposed to represent peace and harmoney.
The shapes on the right show a kind of symetry that adds to the rythem of the whole piece. Following the tree down to the people then to the organic lines creates good composition.
Socially i think this piece promotes peace and harmoney through the use of soft friendly colors.
